about

I started writing and releasing acoustic tunes 10 years ago in 2012. I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to do with myself after my third full-band ended. I felt like I needed a break from being a/the songwriter for my next project, so I played lead guitar for a few bands for a long time, just showin’ up to rock. During that time in 2012, I started quietly releasing lofi bedroom recordings on my SoundCloud and realized what a healthy outlet it was for me. It can be very intimidating showing your band mates a new song with a melody you’re still figuring out and personal lyrics that might not resonate with them. The first few years with Howlie, I was wholly unreserved; my creativity flowed in a way it hadn’t since I was 15 with my first guitar and every new note was a point of discovery. I pushed myself to study harmony and counter point, I discovered the Beatles and The Beach Boys(!!), I practiced recording to tape and allowed myself to not worry too much about what everyone else thought. While I’m still writing today, 2012-18 especially holds my favorite, most intimate material.

I wanted to commemorate ten years of bein’ me, so I put together this full length of all of my singles. I’m also including many recorded ideas for songs that are a part of my (sometimes goofy) creative process that I thought were lost to time. I found an old laptop earlier this year and was totally blown away at the fun I could hear in my very, very humble beginnings.

Thank you for being so kind the last decade; I feel very humbled to have received the support given to me and the many connections I’ve made simply by being myself.
